Find which WoW add-on you want to install and download.

Place the unzipped folder in the World of Warcraft Interface Add-ons directory, usually C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Add-ons .

Load up World of Warcraft and click on the Add-ons button in the lower left corner of the character select screen.

If the add-on is installed properly it will show up in this menu. Also, if you do not have any other add-ons installed and this one isn't installed properly then the Add-ons button will not show up.

Once you know the add-on is installed properly login to the game and check it out.

There are many sites you can use to download different WoW add-ons.
Sometimes you can see some add-ons labelled as "Out of Date" on the add-on page as shown in the picture:
In this case, make sure to check "Load Out of Date Add-ons" as shown in the picture below; otherwise, your add-on will not load:
Once placed into the WoW folder the path should look like: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons\FolderName\AddonFile(s).lua
Once the file is unzipped check to make sure it is in this format: FolderName\addonfile.lua
